Veranna Phillips

Veranna joined the Serenity staff in 2015. She was born and raised in New Orleans La.

She graduated from Southern University at New Orleans where she received her B.A. degree in Social Studies Education with a Minor in History. She then received her Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond Louisiana. She was teaching at her alma mater when hurricane Katrina forced her family to move to the North Texas area in 2005. They decided to settle in McKinney TX.

She continued her education at SMU where she received her English as a Second Language certification. She is also certified in Special Education and as an administrator in the states of Louisiana and Texas.

Almost every member of her family is in the field of education so it was not a surprise that she followed suit. Veranna is currently enrolled at Nova Southeastern University as a doctoral student.
